Misery in Missouri?

Whoooooweeee, what a week!

The trip to Missouri was a great success. We've got a lot of work to do but at least now we know more about how to get from point A to point B. So much was talked about it was rediculous and most of it was financial jargon I didn't understand at first. I'll try to break down how things happened and keep it simple so as to not bore everyone.

Tuesday:
Took off for Missouri around 9:45am and arrived around 7:00pm our time. The drive went off without a hitch. No traffic jams, no car trouble, no construction, weather was great. Illinois sucked juicy balls...except for the Cheddars in Springfield, IL.

Had dinner at Gerry's and met John DelVecchio, Doug Esposito, and Robert Scott McCall a.k.a
Mac They talked their business jargon and I tried to absorb as much as I could.

Went to Walmart with Gerry and Mac to pick stuff up for Wednesday B-Fast.

Wednesday:
Shot the shit with John and Doug as Gerry went to get Dale and Julia Dye. John is quite the accoplished writer (The 13th Valley, For the Sake of All Living Things, Darkness Falls:An American Story). Both he and Doug are the "Money Guys" with experience in venture capitalism.

Dale, Julia and Gerry showed up. Coffee, muffins, and more chatting. Gerry's friend Darryl(?) showed up with equipment to film Dale for the DVD that's going to go into the invetsor package. I was standing next to Dale as everyone was chatting and after a while he turns to me and says "Sit down, you're makin' me nervous.", grabbed my arm and made me sit down :D

We go over what needs to be in the pamphlet for the investors. Dale wants 10 images from the movie script that he wrote (my job), a synopsis (John), Gerry to layout the whole thing, and Doug to bring it to investors. Dale really hammered home that the images were very important. No pressure right?

Before the table reading Dale does a video outlining to investors what we're all about, so they will give us their money to make the movie.

After a while Mac gets back from making copies of the movie script for everyone who didn't already have one and we commence a table reading. Of all of us Mac did the best job reading and I think Dale was impressed with him. Anytime a scene came up that Dale thought would make a good image he would tap in my direction. At one point he said to me "If you screw this up, I'll fucking kill you."

Definitely the stand out line of the whole day for me :D Also, he didn't directly say this, but I think he also wants me to do the story boards for the movie. Holy shit.

The table read was fun as hell. Four hours later we finished, took some pics of the group, and everyone got a cool ass Warriors Inc. coin from Dale and Julia.

We head to Zio's and there's more chatting about the movie biz and finanical stuff. Mac and I have a silly moment near the end and Gerry threatens to seperate us. It was the only time we spoke to each other. I swears we wusn't doin' nuthin' wrong boss!

Dale and Julia head off to catch their flight and the rest of us head back to Gerry's.

John and Doug get their stuff together to get ready to take off and we all have a nice chat. They mention that they felt a little bad for me with Dale picking on me and putting so much on my shoulders. Personally, I fucking loved it. It's lit a fire under my ass that I haven't ever thought possible. Dale is not a man I want to disappoint and, not to sound like an arrogant asshole, I have yet to fail at anything I've set my mind to. I dunno maybe it was the leadership qualities he has. It's not something I've ever experienced in someone before. It was fucking fantastic. I would do anything the man asked.

I have never been around so many driven individuals in my life. To finally see other people who have it is hard to put into words.

Gerry, Mac and I hung out on the deck and shot the shit. The major stuff was over. What a long day. Ate some din din watched half of Talladega Nights, then went to bed. I was exhausted.

Thursday:
Took off around 9:45 our time and got home at 6:30. I called at 5:30 to see if the boys were getting num nums and if they'd wait for me. Yes and yes. I get home, and no ones ready except for Tim. Apparently an hour isn't long enough to get ready and/or decide where they wanted to go. Bill drove and still no one could make up their mind. This is the shit I come home to? Seriously? It's a simple decision and they (yes YOU guys) treat it as if it will alter their very existance if it's not the right call. We ended up going to Uno's. Good pizza and Bill's bad driving equals.....something.

So that's it. I have some old man work to do today and have to read through the movie script a few more times to get some good pics to put in the investor package. We're aiming to have it done by the end of April so we can approach the first investor in May. Once we get investors I'll be put on salary (as well as the other fellows) for CFE. Toora fucking loo!

Here's a pic of all in attendance.

I look fucking retarded. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!

Holy Moses. I've been so busy updating my poopy myspace I keep forgetting about this bad boy.

Long story short, I'm doing a 12 page story for IDW in Gene Simmons House of Horrors #1.
I'm doing the Sean Taylor story which rocks. This will be my first published and paid work. YEEHAW!

I'm finished with the pencils and have started inking the pages and will ,hopefully, be doen by weeks end. I probably won't be able to show anything until June when the comic hits news stands. LOOK FOR IT!.

Here's a preview of the cover for the comic and another blurb from IGN :

GENE SIMMONS HOUSE OF HORRORS - a quarterly horror anthology debuting in July with a special cover by the inimitable creator of Spawn, TODD McFARLANE. The comic will also feature and featuring intros and outros written by the book's host, Gene Simmons himself. Issue 1 will feature stories written by Chris Ryall, Tom Waltz, Dwight MacPherson, Sean Taylor, and two talented progeny, Alan Moore's daughter Leah Moore (with John Reppion), and Nick Simmons, too.
