Wow, two new pieces of artwork in two weeks. I'm on a roll! Here's the latest product of my loins. It was done for a challenge over at penciljack.com. I'm happy with it and let me be the first to admit that there aren't too many things I've done that I didn't want to immediately burn. Hopefully I can continue this spree of actually noticing an improvement in my inking. 'Till next time!
Hello friend of friends! This is where I hope to put up some samples of my comic book work as I strive for artistic perfection(or not). Most of the stuff will probably be inking samples and stuff that I'm practicing on to improve my inking in preperation for actually getting some good samples to send in to editors. Full of hot air? Maybe. Might just be gas.
So without further abatement of your time...
My most recent debacle. Kazar #9 cover. Sure it looks simple enough, but don't let the saucy bitch fool you! Tried a few different things here and there experimenting with feathering and hatching, not all of them successful and I think it diminishes the overall cohesiveness of the piece. Lessons were learned and that is the point after all, is it not?
I'm a former student of the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Art, and have done some work for IDW Publishing (Gene Simmons House of Horrors #1, and I colored the new TPB of Children of the Grave).
I've also done some story board work for a Bollywood horror movie and am currently working on a book called City of Fire for Charlie Foxtrot Entertainment.
